On one of the last days of our visit, we visited the headquarters of Korea National Railway – a state-owned enterprise responsible for the development of railways in Korea and beyond. We had the opportunity to participate in a presentation combining the topics of the latest technologies in infrastructure construction with the safe operation of high-speed railway lines.

Particularly noteworthy were, among others, a 4D film showing detection systems in extraordinary conditions, such as earthquakes, and a simulator, where each of us could lay our own section of track. The simulator functions were so refined that we could even manually grind welded rail joints. The entire event was accompanied by an industry exchange of experiences and a dialogue on innovative technologies.

Of course, we traveled to and from the headquarters of Korea National Railway – how else – by high-speed train. Korea National Railway has its own research center, which introduces innovative technologies. They share their knowledge and experience with many countries, where various projects are implemented, including China, Vietnam, the USA and Sudan.

As a company with a vast base of acquired scientific knowledge, KNR offers consulting, project supervision and plan implementation. On a daily basis, we exchange experiences with KNR engineers as part of our cooperation on the project entitled “Construction of a railway line on the section Katowice – state border – Ostrava”.
