We’re excited to announce that on May 20, 2025, in Krakow, an agreement was signed between PKP PLK S.A. and the consortium of DOHWA Polska Sp. z o.o. Sp. k. and DOHWA Engineering. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Mateusz Wanat, Director of the Southern Region of CRI PKP PLK S.A., and Mr. Shin Nyeon-ho, President of DOHWA Polska.
The subject of the contract is the development of design documentation for the construction of a new Janowice traction substation, located at projected km 33.500 of railway line no. 622 Podłęże – Tymbark. This includes a 110 kV power supply line, traction control and power supply equipment, a photovoltaic installation, and other essential infrastructure for the proper functioning of the facility. The order also encompasses the design documentation for the construction of a new Sawa sectional cabin, along with its necessary associated infrastructure, situated at projected km 25.140 of railway line no. 622.
We are responsible for preparing the entire design documentation, from the program-spatial concept through construction designs, obtaining administrative decisions, preparing tender materials, and finally, author’s supervision for the construction of the new traction substations.
This project is a vital link for the Southern Region’s key investments within the larger undertaking: “Construction of a new railway line Podłęże – Szczyrzyc – Tymbark/Mszana Dolna and modernization of the existing railway line no. 104 Chabówka – Nowy Sącz – Stage II.” This initiative aims to create a fast and modern railway connection between Krakow, Nowy Sącz, and Zakopane.
The contract’s completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2030.
This agreement marks a significant step for DOHWA Polska, and it’s a testament to the trust placed in us by PKP PLK S.A. to deliver complex and crucial investments for the development of Poland’s railway system.
